Many see divorce as being a hard period of grieving. In her talk, Vani Kabir argues that there can be a happy life after divorce. She opens up about her own Indian culture, which dictates that there is no happiness after divorce and that single mothers should not date for the sake of their children. By drawing parallels between various cultures and how they approach the concept of being divorced, Vani Kabir asks: "If we celebrate marriage, then why not celebrate divorce?" Vani Kabir is popularly known as The Modern Sufi by more than 140,000 fans on social media. She is a writer, an experienced TEDx speaker, a youth motivational speaker, an upcoming author, and a single mom of a 10-year-old. Kabir also addresses several emotional issues regarding youth and women through her poetry, talks, workshops and more. Aside from her social work, Kabir is also a Senior Creative Director with a leading advertising agency and a recipient of several international advertising awards. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
